Goalkeepers: Training with Steve Branz

The club conducts weekly goalkeeper training each Friday afternoon with Steve Branz.

5:30-6:30 at Pin Oak Middle School. Cost is $10.00 per goalkeeper per session.

All club goalkeepers are welcome (any age, girls or boys). This is an excellent opportunity. Reservations not required. Just come, and bring your check, payable to BSC.

Steve holds an A Coaches License, has worked with National Camps such as Soccer Plus, the Nike Premier Camps, and has been active with the National Team selection and development of youth keepers. A former professional goalkeeper in USL & NPSL, Steve has 15 years experience in training both male and female goalkeepers of all ages.

He has been doing private goalkeeper training with Bellaire teams since 2000.

Club lessons are open to all BSC players regardless of age. They are pay as you go and cost $10 each. (Cash or check payable to "Bellaire Soccer Club.")

The program is inactive during parts of the offseason, so if in doubt please contact the coordinator listed above.

Sessions are held at Pin Oak Middle School. If there is a club representative there, pay him. If not, pay the trainer and he will get the money back to us. You should bring a ball, water, and soccer attire, including shin guards and cleats. Gloves are strongly encouraged, but not mandatory.

Tom Mitchell will try to get an email out in advance confirming times and locations. However, standard rules apply about weather and field closures. With the sessions on Sundays, you'll need to check the rainout line before heading to the field if there is any doubt in your mind about field conditions. Rainout line is 713-664-2802.

Sometimes schedule conflicts force this to move to a different day, so watch for emails.

In addition, there are private lessons which are organized by one of our coaches directly with the trainer and are by invitation only. The club does not have anything to do with this session beyond providing the field space and email notification. Generally speaking these sessions are for older D1 and S2 keepers and are pay show or no show. Interested players should contact the coordinator listed above.
