Bellaire Soccer Club Volunteer Position:
VICE PRESIDENT - FIELDS

This is a big job but there is a lot of data already provided. The successful VP for fields will utilize a crew of club volunteers.
Nets: Manage Net Coordinators for POMS and Horn / Feld
Coordinate the inspection / re-tie of existing nets throughout the seasons – Fall/Spring.
Purchase & coordinate the installation of new nets each summer.
Field Line Painting: Manage
Field Lining Coordinators for POMS and Horn / Feld
Coordinate the weekly painting of
fields (4) in Fall & (3) in Spring
Inspect / update buckets at FELD field house for
all fields. – Purchase paint/flags/hooks/net hold downs as needed.
Coordinate layout of fields each
season (2 weekends of work each season min.)
Field Watering: Manage Field
Watering Coordinators for POMS and Horn
Coordinate weekly monitoring of
watering efforts (3-4 times per week in summer downtime). Re-program as
necessary since each time a power surge or outage occurs (2-3 times per month)
the programming is lost
Report sprinkler leaks/valve
replacements and monitor work from contractor
Field Scheduling:
Develop Practice Schedules – 18-24
volunteer hrs each season
Work with BHS Soccer on HORN shared
use in the Late Fall/Spring.
Work with POMS Football & Soccer to
make sure of conflict issues – game issues.
Monitor / Assign field reservations
(including review of HYSA re-schedules) for scrimmages to avoid conflicts.
Manage the Rainout Coordinators for
POMS and Horn / Feld
Coordinate the management of fields
daily for rainout updates and update the rainout line.
Make decision each Saturday &
Sunday by 8:00 AM during HYSA Fall / Spring Seasons on field status. If fields
need to be closed, make 4 phone calls and update phone rainout system.
Field Management:
Ensure that hired maintenance man
completes summer mowing as scheduled (2 times/wk)
Set up the field work in the Summer
off-season – Obtain quotes, assign the work, gather volunteers
Annual work by maintenance man and
contractor:
Twice weekly Summer mowing (Mowing
other times of year at ______frequency)
4 fertilizations,
2-3 aerations,
weed control,
ant treatment
Information to
HYSA:
Provide field information (maps &
field forms) to HYSA each season – Fall / spring
